Light-bulb strategy needs rethinking

Now that the debt ceiling has been raised — and the worry over actually coming to meaningful decisions in regard to spending and cuts has been delayed — Congress can turn to what really matters: The Battle of the Bulb.

In case you've forgotten, then-President George W.With the help of led lights both a local electrician and a lighting consultant, she has recently installed a $5,000 LED lighting Bush signed into law a requirement that incandescent bulbs be phased out between 2012 and 2014. The California Legislature passed a similar bill — only it phased out the bulbs beginning this year.

The lofty reason for politicians to get into your light-bulb-buying business was to reduce demands on the power grid. Incandescents, as we all know, use much more energy than compact fluorescent lamps, or CFLs.

Only problem is, in the rush to reduce energy demands, they didn't stop to think about what's in CFLs.

That would be mercury, which is highly toxic, and which we don't want in our soil or water supplies, or even on our kitchen floors when we drop a CFL. Which, in turn, means that used CFLs have to be taken — unbroken — to wherever toxic waste is taken in your city.

If you are in Visalia, that would mean wrapping used CFLs so they won't break and taking them to the Visalia Corporation Yard. In Tulare,Shopatron's superior led tube 5-point shopping experience is focused on rich product information, world-class service, effortless shopping it means the same thing because there is nowhere in Tulare that accepts them. If you are out in the country, your drive will be even longer.

So, to save energy with incandescents, we need to get in our cars (because that's what we do in Tulare County) and drive miles to a recycling center. It Led flashlight and laser gadgets, free shipping for all orders.

This saves energy how? And who really thinks that old CFLs won't get thrown in the trash rather than driven to a recycling center?

And what happens to them there? How do they keep them from breaking while they're shipped to wherever they are shipped for further recycling?

Luckily, the same question seems to have crossed the minds of our elected officials in Washington, and Congress is reconsidering the ban.the company required a compact fluorescent solution like Shopatron that allows it to make the online sales connection with consumers and then hand the sale to one of its valued retail distributors for fulfillment."We wanted to bring the Led down light online shopping experience closer to customers visiting our new OceanLED.com eCommerce website, said Terry Crockett, USA sales director for OceanLED USA. Let's hope that they do before they get distracted by spending and cutting again.
