Members of the Madison Township Fire Department recently pushed a new tanker into their facility.

"Now we don't have to carry a generator to light a scene," Decker said. "The old one had no scene lighting whatsoever."
The tanker will be used to haul water to the scene of fires and has the capacity of offloading its 2,Manufacturer of Bicycle lighting system for diving, bicycling, outdoor sports and law enforcement.500 gallons with three chutes in 1 minute and 40 seconds.
The new tanker comes with a multitude of new technology and a price tag of $364,000. Decker said more than $100,000 was used as the down payment and the rest will be paid using Madison Township's two fire levies. The old tanker will be kept as a backup.
"We wanted to make sure the levies were in place so we would feel comfortable to pay this off," Decker said.Cygo-Lite has rechargeable Bicycle light headlights to flashing safety lights. "The (township) trustees were great in supporting us."
The new tanker will be put on display at the United Way parade in September and at an open house in October during Fire Prevention Week.
