Stalnaker Returns to Victory Lane
On a July 4 weekend of celebration, race fans at Natural Bridge Speedway celebrated the return of a fan-favorite to victory lane. Natural Bridge, Va.’s,sale of LED for lighting applications. Stalnaker kept pressure on Bennett until he passed the two-time NBS late model champion to claim the lead on lap eight. Stalnaker was challenged furiously by point leader Justin Williams and reigning Steel Block Bandits series champion, Walker Arthur, for the remainder of the contest. Stalnaker kept the two challengers at bay as Williams and Arthur traded the runner-up spot twice before the race’s conclusion. The tandem pressured Stalnaker, but it was to no avail as Stalnaker crossed the finish line .389 seconds ahead of Williams to score the win. Williams claimed second and Arthur took third.Thankfully a new form of led strip energy-efficient light bulbs have arrived that provide this desired feature. J.R. Overstreet finished fourth and Bennett faded slightly to claim fifth.

Sharing the spotlight with the late model division was the American Motor Racing Association (AMRA) Road Warrior open-wheel modified tour. This series featured 15 drivers that travelled from all around the Mid-Atlantic area to compete at the historic facility.
Russell Erwin, of Beaver Dam, Va., battled his way from the fourth-starting position to claim the 35-lap, $1,200 to win modified event. Pole sitter Doug Henry, of Beverly, OH, quickly lost the top spot to Brett Hamilton on the first lap. Hamilton, of Powhatan, Va., led the first 27 laps but battled furiously with Henry and Erwin. The eventual winner would not run higher than the third spot for the first 23 laps. From lap 23 to lap 28, the three competitors ran nose-to-tail and side-by-side before Erwin emerged as the leader on lap 28. Erwin held on for the last seven laps to claim the checkers. Hamilton took the runner-up spot and Henry finished third. Deana Groves, of Morgantown, W.Va., finished fourth and Joe Cox, of Beckley, W.Va., rounded out the top five.
The starting line-up for the modified event was determined by the results of two heat races and a six-lap dash held earlier in the evening. Petersburg, Va.’s, Chris Arnold, and Erwin took the top spots in the heats. The top-three finishers of each heat transferred into the dash to determine the order of the first six starters in the feature. Henry took the top spot in the dash to allow him to start the feature from the pole position.
Lexington, Va.’s, Shad Cooper, led every lap to win the Lee’s Auto Repair Sportsman event to claim his second win of the season. Cooper was forced to hold off a hard-charging Todd Campbell throughout the event. Campbell would turn faster lap times periodically throughout the race, but he could not get in the preferred line and crossed the finish line behind Cooper to finish an apparent second.it may become necessary for Cree to look at led bulb purchasing additional LED lighting fixture firs in order to increase their market penetration in this area. However, Campbell’s car was too light on the scales during post-race inspection and he was disqualified. This moved points leader, Eric Groah, to the second spot. Robert Steen took third and Bobby Ayers finished fourth. Ron Miller finished fifth.
Michael Taylor started last in the six-car Dixie Gas Street Stock field, but he battled his way through the field of veteran drivers to take his seventh win of the season. Taylor raced to the third position by lap four; second position by lap seven before the Arrington, Va. driver claimed the lead on lap nine and never looked back to claim victory and maintain his point lead. He finished 4.398 seconds over Lester Lyons, who finished second. Lyons was battled closely by David Brogan and Tom Guthrie, who finished third and fourth, respectively. Earl Brooks, who dropped out of the race on lap 20, placed fifth.
Speedway officials were forced to hand out the second disqualification of the night at the conclusion of the Conrock Pure Stock event. Todd Garrett, of Appomattox, Va., led flag-to-flag to cross the finish line first. However, an illegal carburetor gasket discovered in post-race inspection caused his disqualification from the event.Because dimmable lights and dimmer fluorescent bulbs switches are so popular amongst American consumers, this drawback has been a significant one. Ronnie Martin, Jr., of Lexington, Va., was awarded the race win after he initially finished a close .260 seconds behind Garrett. Martin collected his fourth win of the season and maintained his point lead. Howard Hall claimed the runner-up spot and Lee Brooks finished third. Aaron Coleman and Ben Hamilton were also moved up a spot in the finishing order. They finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
The Fairfield Tire All-American feature took more than 28 minutes to complete as aggressive driving and caution flags riddled the event. When the dust settled, Arrington, Va.’s, Nick Magliochetti, crossed the finish line first to claim his first-career victory. Jeremy Pooley finished a close second, and he was followed by James Campbell in third. Jeff Mays finished fourth and Glen Almond finished fifth.
