SmartWatt Energy Completes LED Lighting Retrofit
SmartWatt Energy, Inc. recently completed a LED lighting retrofit at Americold's temperature-controlled storage facility in Allentown, PA. The project produces higher quality light and reduces lighting-related energy consumption by 1,064,000 kWh—this is equivalent to saving CO2 emissions from 82,424 gallons of gasoline consumed or the carbon sequestered by 18,852 tree seedlings grown for 10 years!

Americold partnered with SmartWatt Energy's Wilkes-Barre, PA, office for the Allentown project. Earlier this month, SmartWatt Energy completed LED lighting retrofit projects at Americold's Rochelle, IL, and Victorville, CA, facilities. SmartWatt Energy teams will be upgrading five more Americold facilities, all slated for completion by June 2011.
